How Hearing Aids Works

A hearing aid is an electronic device that amplifies sound. When a hearing aid amplifies sound it makes the sound appear at an audible volume for the wearer. Without the volume amplified the wearer may not be able to hear the sound at all.

  • Hearing aids are powered by a small battery.

  • Some hearing aids have a computer chip that enables them to be programmed.
  • Many hearing aids have a switch that controls the volume and power.
  • Some hearing aids also have the option to change the listening environment. So, you have a more comfortable clarity for conversations, public places etc.
